The Hyundai Creta enjoys significant popularity in the Indian market. This popularity is often reflected in the sales number of the SUV. However, the car hasn’t received any changes for a while now. Hence, the company is about to launch a new version of the SUV on January 16 in India. Before the official event, a test mule of the new model was spotted on the road, revealing some key details of the new SUV.
Based on these pictures, the Hyundai Creta facelift will have some exterior design changes like LED daytime running lights (DRLs), which are similar to other Hyundai cars like the Venue and Verna. The taillights will also have a new design, similar to the Venue, and will have a stop lamp in the spoiler. There will also be a change in the position of the number plate.
The new Creta will have some significant changes in its look with new alloy wheels, new LED lights, a new bumper design, and a new front grille. Inside the car, the dashboard will have a new look, and the cabin will have new upholstery. Expectations are that the SUV will also get some new technology like a 360-degree camera, a new infotainment system, and a new digital instrument cluster. Additionally, the car will have Level 2 ADAS for added safety.
Even with all the changes the Hyundai Creta facelift won’t have any significant technical changes, although it is anticipated to get a new engine. The previous 1.4-liter petrol engine will be replaced by a new 1.5-liter petrol engine, which will be more powerful. However, the 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines will remain the same.
The ongoing version of the Hyundai Creta comes with a starting price of Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom). With the changes, the car is expected to have an increased price. Once launched the SUV will go against rivals like Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and others in the segment.
