Bollywood actors are often seen buying luxury cars, often big SUVs with big diesel engines. But going against the trend, the interests of a lot of celebrities seems to be shifting towards more environmentally friendly options. Recently, Suniel Shetty bought an MG Comet EV. At the time, actor Rohit Roy expressed his interest in buying the same electric car and said he was waiting for the delivery of his in White colour. The time has come now and the actor received his brand new car.
Rohit Roy recently shared a picture of his new MG Comet. He also said that he was happy with the experience of his tiny electric car. It is to be noted that the electric car has been designed for Urban mobility and is sold with a starting price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
Sharing the picture on social media, he said, “And it’s here finally! What better way to start the new year! One day without petrol due to the truckers’ strike made me realize every house needs an EV, especially the perfectly sized MG Comet! It’s HUGE INSIDE while being easy to maneuver even on the most crowded Mumbai streets.”
The actor also mentioned that the car was extremely easy to drive. Furthermore, he said that he has not gotten out of the car since taking the delivery of the vehicle. He expressed his gratitude for the quick delivery of the electric car.
Rohit Roy has chosen the Candy White colour of the MG Comet EV. However, the car is available in multiple other colour options including Apple Green with Starry Black, Candy White with Starry Black, Apple Green, and Aurora Silver. It is to be noted that he has chosen the top-spec Plush variant of the car.
MG Comet EV
MG Comet comes equipped with a smart start system, an intelligent key that can be shared, LED headlights and taillights, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel, a reverse parking camera, an auto-up driver’s window feature, and more. A 10.25-inch instrument panel, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, connected car capabilities, and three USB connections with fast charging are all included with this little EV.
Regarding the drivetrain, the Comet EV Plush model has a 17.3kWh battery pack which offers a ARAI-certified range of 230 kilometres. A 3.3 kW onboard charger is also available from MG, and it takes about seven hours to fully charge the battery. The electric motor present in the car is placed on the rear axle and gives out 42 bhp of power and 110 Nm of peak torque.
