Akasa Air Launches Daily Flights To Ayodhya, Connects With Pune And Delhi

Akasa Air has commenced daily direct flights to the holy city of Ayodhya, operating flights between Pune and Ayodhya via Delhi, with no change of aircraft required. The inaugural flight on 15 February 2024 departed from Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya at 13:35hrs and arrived at Pune International Airport at 17:50hrs, with a stop at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi at 15:05hrs.

Ayodhya is the third city for Akasa Air in the state of Uttar Pradesh, after Lucknow and Varanasi. With the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya recently, the city has seen a massive surge in tourists. Further, the government inaugurated the new airport in the city last year.

Since its launch in August 2022, Akasa Air has served over 7.7 million passengers and connects with 20 cities across India, namely Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Delhi, Guwahati, Agartala, Pune, Lucknow, Goa, Hyderabad, Varanasi, Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Port Blair, Ayodhya, Gwalior, and Srinagar.

Ayodhya, a city with immense spiritual and cultural significance, attracts tourists from across the globe. The launch of flights to Ayodhya will cater to the growing demand for air travel in the region and is in line with Akasa Air’s purpose of seamlessly connecting metros and non-metros across the country.

Akasa Air will deploy its Boieng 737 MAX, its brand-new fleet with ample legroom and features like USB ports in a majority of aircraft, Café Akasa onboard meal service, Pets on board and menu card in Braille for persons with visual impairment.
