Ather Energy recently launched its most expensive electric scooter in the Indian market in the form of the Ather 450 Apex priced at Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom). At the time its most affordable scooter, the 450 S was priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the brand has now slashed the prices of the EV bringing it down to Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), which amounts to a reduction of Rs 20,000. If someone wants a pro pack of the EV they will have to add Rs 10,000 more to the mix.
Ather 450S
The Ather 450S is one of the electric scooters in India sold with a sporty design. Furthermore, the design with sharp angles is complemented by colours like Salt Green, Space Grey, Cosmic Black, and Still White. To make thighs better for consumers the electric scooter comes equipped with a 7-inch DeepView LCD display which is controlled using the switchgear. It is to be noted that the 450X comes with a touchscreen.
The screen present on the electric two-wheelers offers multiple features like turn-by-turn navigation. Based on the brand’s claim, it gets 18 directional possibilities. It also gets a fall-safe feature which cuts the power to the motor in case of a fall. It also offers parking assist and an auto-hold feature that holds the scooter without holding brakes. For safety, it also has tow and theft alerts.
Powering the Ather 450S is a 2.9 kWh battery pack that offers a certified range of 115 km on a single charge. In eco mode, the EV has a range of 90 km. The electric motor employed in the two-wheeler is capable of propelling it to a top speed of 90 km per hour and goes from 0-40 kmph in 3.9 seconds.
With its new price, the Ather 450S competes against electric scooters like Bajaj Chetak Urbane which comes at Rs Rs 1.15 lakh, base TVS iQube which is priced at Rs 1.23 lakh and Ola S1 Air which is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh. (all prices ex-showroom).
