Some of these improvements in the trains include, interchange of emergency push button in driver control panel, improved cabin for better air conditioning with insulation over panels, aerosol based fire detection and suppression system inside coaches, increase in wash basin depth to avoid splashing of water, increased reclining angles for the seats, and more.
The Finance Minister also talked about three major economic corridor programmes. As per the statement, PM Gati Shakit will enable multi-modal connectivity for energy, mineral and cement corridors, port connectivity corridors, and high-traffic density corridors.
Talking about the corridor, FM Sitharaman said, “The resultant decongestion of the high-traffic corridors will also help in improving operations of passenger trains, resulting in safety and higher travel speed for passengers. Together with dedicated freight corridors, these three economic corridor programmes will accelerate our GDP growth and reduce logistic costs.”
The minister also talked about how NaMo Bharat and Metro Rail’s growth may lead to essential urban change. “Large cities concentrating on transit-oriented development will support the expansion of these systems,” she stated.
