The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will be named “Atal Bihari Vajpayee Smruti Sewree Nhava Sheva Atal Setu,” in honour of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a former Indian prime minister. The project will have a 100 kmph speed limit and is anticipated to see around 70,000 vehicles each day.
Trans Harbour Link: Details
Beginning in Sewri in South Mumbai, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link will cover Thane Creek and will go up to Chirle in the suburbs of Navi Mumbai. With a total length of 21.8 km and an elevation of almost 16.5 kilometres above sea level, the project is the longest sea bridge in India.
With the completion of the new project, traffic congestion from South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai and Pune as well as vice versa will be lessened, cutting the current two-hour travel time down to 35 minutes. The Mumbai-Pune Motorway and the soon-to-be Navi Mumbai International Airport will be connected to MTHL in the project’s second phase.
Trans Harbour Link: Fare
The six-lane highway will have AI cameras installed and will be able to identify car breakdowns and notify the control room of them. In the event of an accident, there are emergency lanes on both sides of it. The MTHL will have a toll price of Rs. 250.
Furthermore, frequent visitors will have discounted return passes for one-way fares. The daily pass for India’s longest sea bridge will be 2.5 times of the daily fare, while the monthly pass will be 50 times of the one-way fare.
