The new 2023 Kia Seltos continues to become one of the best-selling SUVs in India, surpassing over 100,000 bookings since its launch in July 2023. In 2023, Kia sold a total of 1.04 Lakhs units of the Seltos, clocking 13,500 bookings (approximately) every month. The new Kia Seltos also set a new record for the highest first-day bookings in its segment, when it was launched in 2023.

The Kia Seltos was first launched in 2019, as Kia’s entry product for India. Since its initial launch in August 2019, Kia has manufactured over 6 Lakhs Seltos units in India, with nearly 75% sold in the domestic market. The starting price for the New Seltos in India is Rs 10.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
Launched in July 2023, the new Kia Seltos has maintained its stance as one of the best selling mid-size SUV. It features a refreshed design, enhanced performance with a sportier touch, a futuristic cabin, and advanced technology. The SUV boasts a total of 32 features, encompassing 15 safety features and 17 ADAS Level 2 autonomous features.
New Kia Seltos: Sales Trend
As per Kia, the automatics emerged as the top choices among Seltos’ new-age customers, comprising nearly 50% of the total bookings. With growing awareness of advanced Active Safety features, approximately 40% of buyers are expressing strong interest in variants equipped with ADAS.
Seltos booking trends mirror the enduring preference for sunroofs among Indian customers, with 80% of Seltos buyers opting for this feature. The ratio of petrol to diesel bookings also remains healthy at 58:42%. Over 80% of buyers inclined towards owning the top variants.
In April 2017, Kia India signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the State Government of Andhra Pradesh, India, to build a new manufacturing facility at Anantapur District. Kia commenced mass production in August 2019 and has an annual production capacity of 300,000 units.
Till date, Kia India has launched five vehicles for the Indian market – Kia Seltos, Kia Carnival, Kia Sonet, Kia Carens, and Kia EV6. Kia India has completed over 1.1 Million vehicle dispatches from its Anantapur plant, including over 8.6 lakh domestic sales and close to 2.5 lakh exports.
