Vande Bharat Express trains have become the posterboy of the Indian Railways identity. The Blue and White trains, which will now don Orange and Grey paint scheme have come a long distance from the first launch in 2019. The fastest train of India has become the centre of attention of the government’s development push and often finds its way in the videos on social media platforms.

Adding to the list of such videos, a new video of the indigenous train was shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on X.com (formerly Twitter), showing a unique encounter. In the 18-second video clip, the modern Vande Bharat train is seen passing by an old steam engine on the tracks.
The video begins by showing a person fuelling an old steam engine by throwing coal in the glowing orange furnace powering the train. A few seconds in, the video shows the steam engine running on the tracks. Meanwhile, the Loco pilot holds a green flag out of the coal powered engine.

Later on, the Vande Bharat train appears on the screen speeding towards the engine and passing by it. The video was shared by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw with the caption, saying, “When Steam Met Speed!!!” Based on the caption, the video was recorded in the Delhi-Rewari Section.
Since the video was shared on social media, it has received over 160 thousand views, more than 5 thousand likes, and continues to get more. Once the video went viral, multiple social media users reacted to the video.
One of the users, commented on the post saying, “Do we still have steam engines. Would like to take my son on it. I have a lot of fond memories travelling continuously for 3 days on them. Kindly preserve them and keep them alive and running on at least one route @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji”
Another user resonated with the same thoughts, saying, “Wow, i didn’t know that there are steam engines still in use I thought we replaced all steam engines with diesel locomotives..”
Ministry of Railways recently shared another video of Vande Bharat Express train in its grey and orange guise, where the train was recorded in a single frame with a plane flying directly above it. The video of the exact moment shared on social media platforms is going viral on the internet.
