The 29th season of the CTR-JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship will feature 17 races across six categories at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore.
The 2026 CTR-JK Tyre FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship is set to begin at Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore on October 24–25. The 29th season of the national racing series will bring together emerging talent and experienced competitors for 17 races over the opening weekend.
The championship marks a new partnership between JK Tyre and Chennai Turbo Riders (CTR), aimed at strengthening India’s motorsport ecosystem and providing drivers with a competitive platform to develop their skills. The weekend’s programme spans single-seater racing, touring car competition and single-make championships.
The event will feature the LGB Formula 4, JK Tyre Novice Cup, Super Saloon, Indian Touring Car (ITC), Indian Super Touring Car (ISTC), JK Tyre Levitas Cup and Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup presented by JK Tyre, with the latter featuring separate Amateur and Professional grids.
LGB Formula 4: Entry-Level Single-Seater Racing
LGB Formula 4, now in its 29th year, remains an entry point into single-seater racing. The cars use a carburetted 1,298cc Suzuki Swift engine, an Esteem five-speed gearbox and a chrome-molybdenum tubing frame.
Three races are scheduled for the weekend. Dhruv Goshwani, Monith Srinivasan, Sandeep Kumar and Saran Vikram are among the drivers to watch as competitors look to establish an early advantage in the championship.
The JK Tyre Novice Cup will also provide a pathway for drivers moving from karting to open-wheel formula racing. The category will feature two races during the opening round.
Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup Gets Separate Grids
The Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, enters its sixth edition with a revised format. Amateur and Professional competitors will race on separate grids using different platforms: the GT-R650 for Amateurs and the GT-R750 for Professionals.
The grids will comprise 20 Amateur riders and 15 Professional riders, with three races scheduled for each class. Kabir Sahoch and Saurav Dey are among the competitors to watch in the Amateur category, while Senthil Kumar, Anish D Shetty and Allwin Xavier are expected to challenge in the Professional field.
Touring Cars and Levitas Cup Add to the Programme
The Super Saloon category will feature production-based racing cars across classes with different levels of technical modification. The Super Stock and Indian Junior Touring Cars (IJTC) classes will each contribute to the weekend’s touring car action, with two races scheduled for the category.
The Indian Touring Car and Indian Super Touring Car classes will also feature two races. Both use production-based cars prepared for circuit competition, with ISTC representing the more extensively modified category.
Meanwhile, the JK Tyre Levitas Cup enters its second edition as a single-make championship featuring lightweight, race-prepared Maruti Suzuki Ignis cars. The cars use a naturally aspirated 1.2-litre K-Series engine producing 92hp, paired with headers and a straight-pipe exhaust.
Two races are planned, with competitors divided into Rookie and Pro/Gentlemen’s categories. The format is designed to test braking, cornering, car control and overtaking skills.
Live Webcast and Championship Outlook
The opening weekend will feature national drivers, international entries from Malaysia and Sri Lanka, and women racers from across India. With 17 races scheduled across two days, competitors will aim to build early momentum in their respective categories.
The races will be streamed live on JK Tyre Motorsport’s Facebook and YouTube channels, starting at 10am on Saturday and 9:45am on Sunday, according to the organisers.
