A female passenger on Calicut to Mumbai Air India flight criticized the airline for serving her pieces of chicken in a vegetarian meal. The passenger Veera Jain, who is a vegetarian shared pictures of her meal served on an Air India flight on X.com along with her PNR number and other details of her journey.

Sharing her story on social media, Veera wrote, “On my @airindia flight AI582, I was served a veg meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. This was a flight that was supposed to take off at 18:40PM but left the airport at 19:40PM.”

The post shared by the flyer got the attention of a lot of social media users raising concerns about the meals served on flights. The pictures shared by Veera on her social media handle, show the food packing with the “veg” label on it. However, it had pieces of chicken in the rice.

Complaining about the same, Veera wrote, “When I informed the cabin supervisor (Sona), she apologized and informed me that there was more than one complaint about the same issue other than me and my friend. However, after I informed the crew, there was no action taken to inform other passengers having vegetarian meals.”

Air India commented on the post, “Dear Ms. Jain, we request you delete the asked details from the open tweet (to avoid misuse) and share the same with us via DM along with your PNR.”

Veera also had trouble with the flight’s takeoff delay. According to her, the AI582 flight was scheduled to depart at 6:40 p.m., but it was delayed by one hour. Her buddy missed her train from Mumbai to Ahmedabad at 11 p.m. that night because of the delayed aircraft. The AI582 was scheduled to land in Mumbai at 8.40 pm.

Jain asked the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Indian Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA), to investigate the situation in her post.
