Ducati has expanded its off-road motorcycle portfolio in India with the launch of the Desmo450 MX Factory and Desmo450 EDX. Both motorcycles are powered by a 449.6cc single-cylinder engine featuring Desmodromic valve timing, producing 63.5 hp and 53.5 Nm of torque.

The Desmo450 MX Factory is designed for motocross racing, while the Desmo450 EDX has been developed for enduro and cross-country riding. Bookings for both models are now open across Ducati dealerships in India.

The launch marks the introduction of Ducati’s Desmodromic technology in its off-road motorcycle range in the Indian market. The company says the motorcycles draw on its racing experience in MotoGP and Superbike championships.

At the heart of both motorcycles is a 449.6cc, single-cylinder engine equipped with Ducati’s Desmodromic valve timing system. It develops maximum power of 63.5 hp at 9,400 rpm and peak torque of 53.5 Nm at 7,500 rpm.

Ducati states that 70% of the maximum torque is available from 4,200 rpm, while the engine’s rev limiter is set at 11,900 rpm. The power delivery is designed to provide strong acceleration and responsiveness across different off-road riding conditions.

Both motorcycles also receive a new-generation electronics package, including Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Quick Shift (DQS), Launch Control, Engine Brake Control and two Power Modes and two Riding Modes.

The closed-loop traction control system adjusts power delivery based on actual rear-wheel slip. It can automatically identify jumps and disengage, while riders can temporarily bypass the system using the clutch lever.
