Tata Punch.ev To Launch In India Soon: Check Design, Range, Price, Variants

Tata Motors is expanding its presence in the electric car market. Pushing forward its efforts the brand has unveiled the new Tata Punch.ev electric SUV in the Indian market. The new punch EV fills the gap between the Tigor.ev and Nexon.ev in the brand’s lineup. Furthermore, with the new electric vehicle, the automaker has introduced its new Gen 3 EV architecture that they are calling the acti.ev.

It is to be noted that the brand has started taking bookings for the electric car for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The Tata Punch.ev will be the fourth electric car from the house of the Indian automaker. Before you book the car; here’s all you need to know about Tata Punch.ev:

Tata Punch.ev: Design

The Punch EV has received very significant changes over its ICE-powered cousin. The car gets a newly designed bumper and the grille has been replaced for a more EV-like look. It is very apparent that multiple design elements have been borrowed from the Nexon.

Hence, the car has a very similar persona to the Nexon EV with things like LED light bar, split headlamps, and more. Notably, the electric car gets its light socket in the front. The car is equipped with 16-inch alloy-wheels and gets disc brakes on all four wheels. Furthermore, this is the first time a Tata car has been given a frunk.

Tata Punch.ev: Features

The Tata Punch EV gets a 10-25-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Furthermore, the brand has added its illuminated two-spoke steering wheel design which is also seen on its bigger SUVs. However, the lower variant of the car will be equipped with 7.0-inch screens for the instrument cluster and the infotainment unit.

A 360-degree camera, leatherette seats, an automatic parking brake with auto hold, connected car technology, a wireless charger, heated front seats, cruise control, and the new Arcade.ev software suite are some of the features of the top-spec Punch EV. There is also the option of a sunroof. 

Tata Punch.ev: Variants

The Long Range Punch EV comes in three trims—Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered Plus—the standard Punch EV comes in five variants: Smart, Smart Plus, Adventure, Empowered, and Empowered Plus. It is to be noted that the brand is offering five different dual-tone paint options for both models.

Tata Punch.ev : Powertrain

The Punch EV has been introduced with two battery pack options i.e., 25 kWh and 35 kWh battery packs with the former being the Standard version and the latter the Long Range version. The 25 kWh variant gets a 3.3 kW AC charger while the 35 kWH battery pack gets a 7.2 kWh AC charger.

The brand is yet to announce the range of the vehicle. However, the modular platform is expected to offer a range between 300 km to 600 km. The SUV itself is expected to deliver 350-450 km range depending on the variant.

Tata Punch.ev : Price

Once launched, the Tata Punch.ev is expected to be priced between Rs 10 to 13 lakh for the Indian consumers. It will directly compete against the Citroen eC3 already on sale in the country.
