New premium urban-tourer scooters get larger 14-inch wheels, updated engines and special launch prices starting at ₹1,09,999
Aprilia India has announced the special launch prices of its new SXR GT range in India, comprising the SXR GT 125 hp-e and SXR GT 175 hp-e. Positioned as premium urban-tourer scooters, the new models combine performance, comfort and touring-focused design while expanding Aprilia’s premium scooter portfolio in the country.
The Aprilia SXR GT 125 hp-e has been priced at ₹1,09,999, while the more powerful SXR GT 175 hp-e is priced at ₹1,29,999. Both prices are ex-showroom Maharashtra and are being offered as special launch prices.
The SXR GT 125 is available in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White colour options. The SXR GT 175 is offered in Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green.
125cc and 175cc engines
The new SXR GT range gets an evolved air-cooled, single-cylinder engine in two displacement options. The 175cc hp-e engine produces 9.76 kW at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, while the 125cc engine develops 7.8 kW at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm at 6,200 rpm.
Both engines feature electronic fuel injection with a single injector and are designed to deliver stronger acceleration and improved performance while retaining the everyday usability expected from a premium scooter.
The engines are also BSVI OBD II Stage B compliant and compatible with E20 fuel, making the new SXR GT range compatible with India’s latest emission and fuel requirements.
14-inch wheels for improved stability
One of the major highlights of the new SXR GT is its 14-inch wheel setup, which Aprilia claims is a first for the segment. The larger wheels are aimed at improving stability and handling while providing a smoother ride over varied road surfaces.
The setup is particularly relevant to the scooter’s urban-tourer positioning, with Aprilia targeting riders who use their scooters for both everyday commuting and longer-distance journeys.
Both versions get telescopic front forks and a rear suspension setup featuring a dual-effect hydraulic shock absorber with five-position adjustment.
Braking hardware differs between variants
The SXR GT 125 gets a 220 mm front disc brake with CBS, while the SXR GT 175 is equipped with a 220 mm front disc brake with ABS. Both scooters use a 140 mm rear drum brake.
The scooters are now available across Aprilia dealerships in India, giving customers an option to choose between the smaller 125cc version and the more powerful 175cc variant depending on their performance and touring requirements.
With the new SXR GT range, Aprilia is looking to strengthen its presence in India’s premium scooter segment by combining larger engine options, bigger wheels and touring-oriented characteristics with the brand’s performance-focused positioning.
