Renault India has commenced customer deliveries of the new Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160, marking the next step in the company’s electrification journey in the country. The first delivery took place at the newly inaugurated Renault new’R showroom in HITEC City, Hyderabad, which is also the brand’s biggest showroom in the city.
The announcement was made on November 6, 2026, as Renault kicked off its Diwali celebrations. The first Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 was handed over to T Krishna Gopal, CEO of Eduzi Academy, by Francisco Hidalgo, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Renault Group India.
Hyderabad has emerged as one of the leading markets for bookings of the newly launched hybrid SUV. Renault considers the city an important market, citing its growing base of technology-oriented consumers and early adopters of advanced mobility solutions.
Renault Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 Launched At Rs 16.99 Lakh
The Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 made its debut in India on October 17, 2026, with a starting price of Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The strong-hybrid powertrain brings Renault’s global E-Tech technology to the Indian market. The Duster is the first product under the company’s electrification journey in India and forms part of its futuREady roadmap.
Renault describes the introduction as the beginning of its strong-hybrid era in the country. The company is combining its hybrid technology with the Duster’s SUV capability, practicality and versatility.
According to Francisco Hidalgo, Renault had targeted bringing the hybrid Duster to customers in less than a year, ahead of the festive season. He said the company had achieved that timeline and was pleased with the response since the model’s launch, which reflects growing acceptance of hybrid technology in India.
Renault Opens Biggest Hyderabad Showroom
Alongside the start of deliveries, Renault inaugurated its new’R store at HITEC City. Spread across 7,000 square feet, the showroom has display capacity for eight cars, making it the company’s largest showroom in Hyderabad.
The facility is Renault India’s 30th new’R store nationally and strengthens its partnership with the VVC Group. The business group now operates three Renault showrooms and two workshops in the city.
The new’R format is a global showroom concept designed around Renault’s contemporary brand identity. It aims to create a modern and customer-focused environment, with vehicles at the centre of the retail space and an integrated experience across purchase and ownership.
Renault Plans Showroom Upgrades Across 24 Cities
Renault India is continuing its retail network transformation programme. The company plans to upgrade all its showrooms across the top 24 cities to the new’R format by July 2027.
These cities account for nearly half of Renault’s sales. Out of the 73 showrooms operating across these markets, 30 have already been upgraded.
Renault India currently has close to 638 sales and service touchpoints across the country, including more than 200 Workshop on Wheels locations. Its manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai, has an annual production capacity of 4.8 lakh units.
With Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 deliveries now underway and its retail network undergoing an upgrade, Renault is looking to strengthen both its product portfolio and customer experience in India.
