Seven-year association renewed as commercial vehicle industry shifts towards alternate fuels, longer service intervals and connected fleets

Valvoline Cummins and Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), have extended their exclusive aftermarket partnership for service fill and after-sales support for another term. The renewed association builds on a relationship that began in 2019 and has already been renewed twice, making it one of the longer-running OEM-lubricant partnerships in India’s commercial vehicle industry.

The partnership covers the supply of a premium range of lubricants formulated specifically for Eicher trucks and buses. Over the past seven years, the two companies have worked together through major changes in the commercial vehicle sector, including the transition from BSIV to BSVI emission standards.

The companies have also integrated backend systems to streamline order fulfilment and supply-chain operations for VECV’s channel partners.

Focus on uptime and lower operating costs

The latest extension comes as fleet operators increasingly focus on vehicle uptime, operating efficiency and total cost of ownership. At the same time, commercial vehicle technology is evolving with the growing adoption of alternate fuels, longer service intervals and digitally connected fleets.

Valvoline Cummins and Eicher Trucks and Buses plan to continue developing application-specific lubricant solutions designed around these changing requirements.

Sandeep Kalia, Managing Director, Valvoline Cummins, said the renewal represents a continuation of the trust built between the two companies over seven years. He highlighted the changing requirements of India’s commercial vehicle industry, particularly the move towards alternate fuels, longer drain intervals and connected fleets.

Next-generation lubricant technologies

As part of the extended partnership, both companies will collaborate on the development of the next generation of fluid technologies. This will include high-performance long-drain-interval lubricants, solutions for alternate fuel applications such as CNG, and advancements in heat-transfer fluids.

Digital platforms will also continue to play a role in the partnership, with both companies looking to enhance service delivery, improve supply-chain responsiveness and strengthen the overall customer experience.

B Srinivas, Managing Director & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles, said the extended partnership will focus on high-performance lubricant solutions tailored to the demanding requirements of Eicher truck and bus customers. He added that the collaboration is aimed at improving vehicle performance, reliability and operational efficiency while supporting higher uptime for customers.

Supporting Eicher’s commercial vehicle ecosystem

The partnership is particularly relevant as commercial vehicle operators increasingly demand products that can support longer operating cycles and evolving powertrain technologies.

By continuing their collaboration, Valvoline Cummins and Eicher Trucks and Buses aim to develop lubricant solutions that can keep pace with the changing commercial vehicle landscape while supporting the reliability and efficiency requirements of fleet operators across India.
