New compact sedan designed exclusively for private buyers gets petrol and iCNG powertrains, AMT option and a feature-rich cabin
TATA.CARS has launched the all-new Aeris compact sedan in India, with introductory prices starting at ₹5.29 lakh for the petrol version and ₹6.29 lakh for the iCNG variant. Designed specifically for personal and family buyers, the Aeris aims to bring a more premium and feature-rich proposition to the compact sedan segment.
The new sedan is available with both petrol and CNG powertrains, along with manual and AMT transmission options. Bookings are now open, with the Aeris available through Tata.Cars dealerships across India.
A key differentiator for the Aeris is that Tata has developed it exclusively for private customers. The company says the model will not be sold in the fleet segment, with fleet requirements instead being addressed through the dedicated Xpres-T brand.

The sedan also gets a first-in-segment Dual Smartphone Deck with wireless charging, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, iRA connected-car technology with more than 35 connected features, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and 65W Type-C fast chargers.
The Aeris offers a 419-litre boot, giving it a practical advantage for everyday family use and longer journeys.
Six airbags standard
Safety is another major focus, with the Aeris featuring six airbags as standard along with Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD and CSC, Hill Hold Control and ISOFIX child-seat anchors.
Higher variants also feature a Blind View Monitor, MultiView Digital Video Recorder and 360-degree HD camera system with 2D and 3D viewing options. Auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, rear defogger and enhanced rear-impact protection are also offered.
The iCNG variants feature additional safety measures including leak detection, leak-proof materials, thermal incident protection and rear crash protection.
Petrol and iCNG with AMT options
Power comes from Tata’s 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine, available with a five-speed manual and AMT transmission. Customers opting for CNG can choose between manual and AMT options, with the iCNG setup using twin-cylinder technology for improved packaging and practicality.
With its combination of a private-buyer-only positioning, multiple powertrain choices, extensive equipment and aggressive introductory pricing, the Tata Aeris aims to give the compact sedan segment a fresh push while offering an alternative to customers who may otherwise consider hatchbacks or compact SUVs.
