Domestic sales stood at 4,465 units while exports contributed 2,490 units; City and Amaze continue to drive positive sales momentum
Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) recorded total sales of 6,955 units in September 2026, comprising 4,465 units in domestic sales and 2,490 units through exports. The company had sold a total of 8,096 units in September 2025, including 5,303 units domestically and 2,793 units in export markets.
The September 2026 numbers come as Honda looks to build momentum in the Indian market ahead of the festive season, with the company highlighting positive demand for its Honda City and Honda Amaze.
Kunal Behl, Vice President, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India, said the company was pleased with the sales momentum of the City and Amaze during the month. He also highlighted the upcoming launch of the New Honda Elevate, which is expected to strengthen the company’s SUV portfolio with a refreshed and enhanced package.
New Elevate to strengthen SUV lineup
The upcoming New Elevate is expected to be an important product for Honda as the company looks to increase its presence in India’s growing SUV market. Honda has indicated that the refreshed model will bring an enhanced package as it enters the festive season and the months ahead.
Honda currently manufactures the Amaze, City and Elevate in India. The company also sells the Honda ZR-V in the country as a completely built-up unit imported from Japan.
The company’s domestic manufacturing facility is located at Tapukara in Rajasthan, while its corporate office is based in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Festive season expected to support demand
Honda Cars India’s September performance comes at the beginning of the crucial festive sales period, when demand for passenger vehicles typically receives a boost across the Indian market.
The company is looking to leverage the festive season along with its existing product portfolio and upcoming product introduction to improve sales momentum in the coming months.
The Honda City continues to serve as the company’s sedan offering in India, while the Amaze caters to the compact sedan segment. The Elevate remains Honda’s key SUV offering, making the upcoming refreshed version particularly important for the brand’s future growth strategy.
With the festive season underway and the New Elevate lined up for launch, Honda Cars India will be aiming to strengthen both its domestic sales performance and overall presence in India’s highly competitive passenger vehicle market.
