Leadership transition takes effect on November 1, 2026, as the mobility engineering company prepares for its next phase of growth
Hinduja Tech Limited, a mobility-focused global engineering and research and development (R&D) technology company and a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, has appointed Faiz Ahmad as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective November 1, 2026. He will succeed Kumar Prabhas, who will retire from the position on October 31 after nine years of leadership.
The company’s Board has approved the appointment as part of a planned leadership transition. To ensure continuity, Prabhas and Ahmad will work closely throughout October to facilitate a smooth handover of responsibilities.
Faiz Ahmad brings extensive industry experience
Ahmad is an experienced industry leader with expertise in engineering, mobility and technology-led business transformation. Having been associated with the broader Hinduja Group ecosystem for nearly two decades, he brings a strong understanding of Hinduja Tech’s operations, customers and organisational culture.
Before his appointment as CEO, Ahmad served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Vehicle Engineering & Development. In these roles, he contributed to strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities, developing talent and improving operational performance.
The company expects his experience and familiarity with its business to support its next phase of growth, innovation and customer engagement across global markets.
Kumar Prabhas concludes nine-year leadership tenure
Prabhas played a significant role in transforming Hinduja Tech into a globally recognised engineering and digital solutions organisation during his nine-year tenure.
Under his leadership, the company expanded its international presence, strengthened customer partnerships and broadened its service portfolio. It also completed strategic acquisitions, including DSD and Tecosim, which helped expand its engineering capabilities and reinforce its position as a multi-industry technology partner.
Dheeraj G. Hinduja expressed his appreciation for Prabhas’s contribution, highlighting his leadership and commitment to the company’s growth. He also wished him a healthy and fulfilling retirement.
Welcoming Ahmad to the new role, Hinduja said his industry knowledge, strategic perspective and customer-focused approach positioned him well to lead the organisation into its next phase of development.

Focus on engineering and digital innovation
Commenting on his appointment, Ahmad said he was honoured to lead Hinduja Tech and highlighted the company’s strong foundation, experienced teams and established customer relationships. He also emphasised his focus on working with employees, customers and partners to drive innovation and deliver sustainable value.
Hinduja Tech provides product engineering and digital technology solutions to the mobility industry, working with automotive original equipment manufacturers, suppliers and emerging mobility companies across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and India.
As the company enters its next chapter, it plans to continue advancing its engineering and digital capabilities, investing in talent and innovation, and developing solutions to support customers navigating changes in mobility and technology.
The leadership transition marks a new phase for Hinduja Tech as it builds on the international expansion and capability development achieved under Prabhas while preparing to pursue further growth under Ahmad’s leadership.
