Manaus facility will manufacture 10 KTM and Husqvarna models across motocross, enduro and adventure segments, with production expected to scale up from 2027

KTM has officially opened its new manufacturing facility in Manaus, Brazil, with an installed annual production capacity of 20,000 motorcycles. The plant, inaugurated on October 14, 2026, is already operational and currently employs 100 direct and indirect workers.

In the first phase, KTM do Brasil expects to manufacture 3,500 motorcycles by the end of 2026, with production scheduled to increase further through 2027. The facility will exclusively manufacture motorcycles under the KTM and Husqvarna brands, covering motocross, enduro and adventure segments.

The opening marks an important step in the reorganisation of the two brands’ operations in Brazil, strengthening their local manufacturing presence and supporting plans to expand their dealer network.

KTM invests R$20 million in Manaus facility

The new plant has received an investment of approximately R$20 million in facilities and equipment. It operates on a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) basis, with production processes covering kit preparation, engine assembly, motorcycle assembly, quality control, packing and shipping.

KTM began local motorcycle assembly in Manaus in 2016 through a partnership with Dafra Motos. With the new facility, the Austrian manufacturer now has an independent industrial operation dedicated exclusively to KTM and Husqvarna motorcycles.

The company expects the new setup to bring its industrial and commercial strategies closer together, helping improve operational efficiency, product availability and support for the expanding dealer network.

Rakesh Sharma, Joint Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, said Brazil remains an important market for both Bajaj and KTM. He highlighted the new facility as a sign of the partnership’s commitment to serving Brazil’s motorcycle community and building a stronger business.

Ten KTM and Husqvarna models to be manufactured

The Manaus plant will produce 10 models across three key segments.

The motocross lineup includes the KTM 250 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F, developed for competition and off-road riding.

The enduro range comprises the KTM 250 EXC-F, KTM 350 EXC-F 6DAYS, KTM 300 EXC and KTM 300 EXC 6DAYS. Husqvarna will also manufacture the FE 350 and TE 300 PRO at the facility.

The plant will additionally produce the KTM 390 Adventure R and KTM 390 Adventure X, which were introduced to the Brazilian market in August 2026 and are scheduled to reach dealerships in October.

The KTM 390 Adventure R carries a suggested retail price of R$37,990, while the KTM 390 Adventure X is priced at R$33,990 in Brazil.

Dealer network expansion planned by 2027

KTM’s authorised dealer network currently has 12 locations in Brazil, with the company targeting 30 outlets by 2027. Increased local production is expected to support the expansion by improving product availability and strengthening the brand’s presence across the country.

Fabian Steinbacher, Vice President of Operations at KTM AG, said the new facility would follow the same processes, quality standards and technical requirements as the company’s operations in Austria.

With an annual capacity of 20,000 motorcycles and plans to increase production as demand grows, the Manaus facility is expected to play a central role in KTM and Husqvarna’s long-term strategy for Brazil.
