New programme covers ICE, hybrid and electric models, with flexible ownership tenures of up to five years and mileage options of up to 1 lakh kilometres
Kia India has expanded its Assured Buyback Programme across its internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio, offering eligible customers an assured residual value of up to 75% for ICE models and up to 70% for electric vehicles after three years. The programme aims to improve ownership confidence by providing greater clarity on a vehicle’s future value and making it easier for customers to plan their next upgrade.
The initiative covers several models in Kia India’s portfolio, including the Sonet, Syros, new Seltos, Carens, Carens Clavis and Sorento, across applicable powertrain options such as petrol, diesel, CNG, hybrid and electric.
By establishing an assured future value at the time of purchase, the programme is designed to help customers make more informed financial decisions while reducing uncertainty around resale value.
Flexible tenure and mileage options
Kia India is offering different tenure options depending on the powertrain. Customers purchasing ICE models can select plans spanning three, four or five years, while EV customers can choose between three- and four-year plans.
The programme also offers annual mileage options of 10,000 km, 15,000 km and 20,000 km, with coverage extending up to 1,00,000 km over the ownership period.
These options allow customers to select a plan based on their driving habits, expected vehicle usage and ownership duration. The assured residual value is subject to the applicable programme criteria and terms and conditions.
Focus on ownership confidence and upgrades
Commenting on the expansion, Atul Sood, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said customers increasingly seek certainty around future vehicle value and convenience when upgrading to another vehicle.
He added that the expanded programme would help eligible customers understand their vehicle’s assured residual value from the outset, supporting more confident ownership decisions.
The programme reflects the growing importance of resale value in the Indian passenger vehicle market, where customers often consider depreciation and future exchange value alongside a vehicle’s price, features, technology and running costs.
For electric vehicles, an assured buyback arrangement could also help address concerns among prospective buyers about long-term value retention as battery technology and the EV market continue to evolve.
How Kia’s Assured Buyback Programme works
Eligible customers can enrol in the programme when purchasing a vehicle through participating authorised Kia dealerships. At the end of the selected tenure, customers may avail the assured buyback value in accordance with the programme agreement and applicable conditions.
The programme is independently administered by the relevant programme partner. Eligibility, valuation, settlement and related obligations are governed by the applicable agreement, while Kia India facilitates access through its authorised dealer network.
Kia strengthens its ownership proposition
Kia India’s latest initiative extends its ownership support across a wider range of vehicles and powertrains, giving customers more flexibility in planning their vehicle purchases and future upgrades.
With assured residual values of up to 75% for ICE models and 70% for EVs over three years, the company is looking to make vehicle ownership more predictable while strengthening customer confidence across its portfolio.
