The five-year collaboration aims to strengthen Tsuyo’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities in India, with a proposed 24-acre facility planned to support electric powertrain development, testing and production.
Tsuyo Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd. has announced a technical collaboration with China-based Suzhou Lvkon Transmission Technology Co. Ltd. (LvKON) to accelerate the development of electric powertrain technologies for commercial vehicles in India. Announced on October 23, 2026, the partnership builds on a relationship between the two companies spanning five years.
The collaboration will combine Tsuyo’s domestic manufacturing presence, engineering capabilities and relationships with Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with LvKON’s expertise in electric drive systems and commercial vehicle drivetrains.
The companies aim to develop reliable, efficient and application-specific electric drive solutions suited to the operating requirements of trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles. The focus will be on technologies capable of meeting demands for performance, durability, energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness as commercial mobility moves towards electrification.
Proposed 24-Acre Facility to Support Manufacturing and Testing
As part of its long-term growth strategy, Tsuyo is advancing plans for a greenfield manufacturing facility spanning approximately 24 acres. The proposed facility is envisioned as an integrated platform for electric powertrain engineering, manufacturing, testing and product validation.
The collaboration is expected to cover the development and industrialisation of high-performance electric motors, transmissions, integrated drive systems and electronic control technologies. Testing infrastructure and after-sales support are also expected to form part of the broader capability-building effort.
LvKON is expected to assist Tsuyo in areas including product engineering, design validation, manufacturing processes, testing systems and after-sales infrastructure. The companies intend to use this technical support to shorten development cycles, improve product maturity and build a stronger foundation for large-scale commercialisation.
The proposed facility and technology partnership are intended to combine international product expertise with local engineering, manufacturing, application development and customer support. This approach is expected to help Tsuyo address the varying requirements of Indian commercial vehicle manufacturers.
Tsuyo Targets Multiple Commercial Vehicle Segments
Tsuyo supplies electric powertrain solutions for three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles (LCVs), medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs), and off-road applications. Its portfolio includes electric motors, controllers and integrated powertrain systems with power ratings ranging from 0.5 kW to 400 kW.
The company operates two manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and says it has sold more than 200,000 motors and partnered with over 50 OEMs. Its research and development activities include collaborations with IITs, NITs and international universities.
The new collaboration is expected to help Tsuyo expand its capabilities in commercial vehicle applications as the industry moves towards higher power ratings, greater system integration and improved energy efficiency. The companies also intend to bring product development, industrialisation, testing and lifecycle support together within a technology-led platform.
