Bajaj Auto reported record quarterly revenue of Rs 20,003 crore in Q2 FY2027, with profit after tax rising 35% year-on-year to Rs 3,354 crore amid strong domestic demand and export growth.

Bajaj Auto reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of Rs 20,003 crore in the second quarter of FY2026-27, registering a 34% year-on-year increase. Profit after tax (PAT) rose 35% to Rs 3,354 crore, while EBITDA increased 37% to Rs 4,172 crore, supported by higher volumes, favourable currency realisation and disciplined cost management.

The company’s performance was driven by growth across two-wheelers, three-wheelers, domestic and international markets. Total vehicle sales increased 20% year-on-year to 15.49 lakh units during the July-September 2026 quarter, compared with 12.94 lakh units in the corresponding period last year.

Bajaj Auto also maintained its EBITDA margin at 20.9%, despite continued volatility and elevated input costs.

Domestic and Export Markets Drive Revenue Growth

Bajaj Auto’s domestic business recorded quarterly revenue growth of 30% year-on-year, supported by demand across two-wheelers and commercial vehicles. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased 2% to 6,07,416 units, while commercial vehicle volumes grew 13% to 1,62,940 units.

Combined domestic sales stood at 7,70,356 units, up 4% from the year-ago quarter.

Exports remained a major growth driver, with overseas volumes rising 41% to 7,78,528 units. Two-wheeler exports increased 43% to 6,76,545 units, while commercial vehicle exports grew 26% to 1,01,983 units.

The company reported particularly strong momentum in Africa, where billing nearly doubled compared with the year-ago quarter. Latin America also recorded its best-ever sales, according to the company, despite intermittent logistical disruptions.

For the first half of FY2027, total exports reached 15,10,701 units, a 47% increase over the corresponding period last year.

Electric Vehicles and Premium Motorcycles Gain Momentum

Bajaj Auto’s electric vehicle portfolio continued to expand during the quarter. Its domestic electric two-wheeler brand Chetak recorded its biggest-ever quarter, with volumes more than doubling year-on-year. Chetak’s revenue crossed Rs 2,000 crore, while profitability continued to improve.

However, supply constraints limited the company’s ability to meet demand, prompting efforts to ramp up production for domestic sales and exports.

The company’s electric three-wheeler business also posted strong growth. Commercial vehicle volumes, including domestic and export sales, reached 2,64,923 units, up 18% year-on-year. Bajaj Auto maintained its leading position in the L5 electric three-wheeler segment, where volumes and revenues more than doubled. Its Riki electric rickshaw range expanded its presence to approximately 185 cities.

Meanwhile, domestic revenue from KTM and Triumph motorcycles increased 45% year-on-year, with combined volumes exceeding 40,000 units. KTM recorded strong sales across its Adventure and Duke ranges, while Triumph continued to gain traction with its modern classic motorcycles despite supply limitations.

H1 FY2027 Revenue Rises 35%

For the first half of FY2026-27, Bajaj Auto’s revenue from operations increased 35% to Rs 37,247 crore, compared with Rs 27,506 crore a year earlier. EBITDA rose 40% to Rs 7,768 crore, while profit after tax increased 38% to Rs 6,337 crore.

The company sold 29,87,135 vehicles during the first six months, up 24% year-on-year. Two-wheeler volumes rose 24% to 25,06,513 units, while commercial vehicle volumes increased 24% to 4,80,622 units.

Strong Cash Generation Supports Future Investments

Bajaj Auto generated record quarterly free cash flow of approximately Rs 4,000 crore. It also reported full conversion of first-half profit after tax into cash, highlighting its focus on working capital and cash generation.

The company ended the period with surplus funds of approximately Rs 15,500 crore, after capital expenditure, growth investments and returning around Rs 10,000 crore to shareholders through dividends and a share buyback.

Bajaj Auto said its financial position provides capacity to fund future strategic priorities while continuing investments across its product portfolio and business operations.
